Open Tribune News is an independent site for golf fans and players who want clear, accurate explanations of how the game works. We cover everything from how a scorecard is filled in to how the major championships began, how relief under the Rules of Golf works, and what the specifications on a driver or wedge actually mean.

Articles on this site are published under the name Graham Whitley. Graham Whitley is a pen name used by the small independent editorial team behind Open Tribune News. We use a shared byline because our articles are researched, drafted, fact-checked and edited collaboratively, and we would rather you judge the work by its accuracy and sources than by personal profiles.
We do not claim PGA teaching credentials, tour experience or insider access. What we do promise is careful research based on the official Rules of Golf, governing bodies, tours, tournament sites and reputable reporting, with sources listed at the end of every article.
